Mechanical Engineer – Advanced Flow Solutions, Inc. – Oklahoma City, OK

 

Job Duties: Design new products and manage new product development projects and teams to meet market requirements. Provide technical support to internal and external customers. Direct the cross-functional design team to complete assigned engineering projects in accordance with specifications while adhering to schedule and budget limitations. Design new positive displacement meter products and accessories for LPG, refined fuel, diesel, ethanol, “1000 SSU+ viscous” products, and redesign/modify existing components and products. Perform and act as liaison for First Article Approvals with IDEX India. Metering and accessory selection for LPG, refined fuel, diesel, ethanol, “1000 SSU+ viscous” markets. Manage project schedules working with marketing, manufacturing, procurement to launch products. Investigate design concepts proposed by marketing i.e. feasibility, cost, function, and operating parameters/limitations. Plan, design and document new products by performing calculations, making layouts, drawings, creating programs, qualifying new parts (capability analysis, verification/validation) and processes to meet API, Weights and Measures (NIST, OIML, and CWM) and regulatory agencies such as UL, ATEX, and PED. Work with lab technicians to write, perform and summarize test data – Cradle to Grave product development process. Present project updates to senior management. Investigate/create engineering change requests to improve product, correct errors, facilitate production, and reduce cost. Modify existing product documentation in order to realize change requests, R&D and/or customer complaints. Communicate the need for, final review and document all testing performed on mechanical or electro-mechanical designs by production. Develop and maintain a detailed technical understanding of fluid metering processes and technologies for applicable markets noted above. Perform other duties as required. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. Plan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety to self and co-workers.

 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Must have 3 years of experience in positive displacement meter design engineering, including demonstrated experience in: tri-rotor positive displacement meter design; positive displacement meter accessories; electromechanical devices; CAD; PTC Creo; SolidWorks; various regulatory agencies/standards including UL, PED, and ATEX; API standards and practices;  Weights and Measures standards and practices; PEI/RP800 Bulk Storage Plants recommended practices; precision aluminum machining (within tolerances of ten thousandths); and LPG, refined fuels, diesel, ethanol, and “1000 SSU+ viscosity” products. Up to 25% domestic and international travel is required. A master’s degree in the above-listed field and 1 year of the above-listed experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
