+ Works with minimal direction from a Medical Technologist; performs analysis of chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic or immunologic nature.
+ Performs clinical laboratory tests.
+ Assures instrumentation is operating according to industry standards.
+ Continually strives to improve processes to achieve accurate test results in a cost effective and efficient manner
+ Reports to a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor. Receives general supervision from Pathologists, Director, Lead Medical Technologist, Technical Supervisors, Shift Supervisors, and Medical Technologists.
+ Receives supervision in computer activities from the Specialist, Lab Information Systems.
+ Associate’s degree from a two (2) year Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent.
+ Prefer recent experience in a hospital laboratory as a Medical laboratory Technician
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
+ Registered or eligible for registry as MLT (ASCP) or equivalent
+ $16.72/hr-$27.30/hr depending on previous experience
+ Position eligible for $3.00/hr weekend shift differential
