Job Description

Job Summary

Provides technical support to Reservoir Engineering Specialist and Resource Development Department. Assists with routine and complex activities involving data acquisition and storage, report generation, mapping and information processing.

Duties and Responsibilities

+ Provide advanced technical support to engineers.

+ Accumulate and effectively organize engineering data from multiple sources for engineering analysis.

+ QC accuracy of well and production data, take appropriate action on any changes, and communicate required corrections to the necessary parties.

+ Create and maintain custom database and spreadsheets of technical data as required by Resource Development department for a variety of projects.

+ Develops, implements, and maintains standardized technical and engineering staff tools and processes.

+ Responsible for loading/entering, verifying, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting data.

+ Maintain accurate reserves and production databases; facilitate corrections to necessary parties across the company.

+ Provides user support for software systems to other technical support and professional personnel, including installation and maintenance of software and troubleshooting user problems.

+ Works well independently or with a team to perform more complex data analyses.

+ Initiates and develops more accurate and reliable data analyses and reporting methodologies.

+ Monitors new technologies and draws upon expertise to make recommendations for further exploitation of existing technologies.

+ Provides intermediate-level discipline-specific training to new systems users.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral

+ Strong computer skills, including MS Office

+ Advanced proficiency in;

+ Office, Aries, Access, Powerpoint, SQL

+ Intermediate Proficiency in;

+ Spotfire, ArcGIS, Wellview, and SAP

+ Proven team player

Required Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Five to eight (5-8) years of related experience

+ An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

+ Associate’s degree or other technical training

Physical Requirements

+ Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.

+ Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

+ Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
