Job Summary The Department Head of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University is seeking applicants for a clinical track assistant/associate professor position. We are seeking an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and clinical abilities to provide excellence in teaching and patient care in our Student Surgery Laboratory and expanding Shelter Medicine/Surgery program. The appointment will commence as soon as possible. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. A DVM or equivalent degree, eligibility for faculty licensure in Oklahoma, and a minimum of three years of successful small animal practice or shelter medicine experience are required. Board specialty in Shelter Medicine not required but would be complementary to negotiations for salary and position title. Duties include clinical and didactic instruction of third and fourth year veterinary students, with emphases on shelter medicine and surgery, and basic surgical principals and procedures on small animals. Exposure to chemicals and pharmaceuticals used in treatment of animals, medical Waste, and animal feces, urine, blood, and vomit. Loud noises related to small animal route. Must comply with mandatory rabies pre-exposure vaccine program. ## Position Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: D.V.M. or comparable veterinary degree Eligibility for faculty license in Oklahoma, and a minimum of three years of successful small animal practice or shelter medicine experience are required.
