+ Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a production facility. Analyzes assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes. Maximizes efficiency by optimization of layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.Essential Functions / Responsibilities :
+ Develop and evaluate manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; and soliciting feedback from operators.
+ Manage continuous improvement activities to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
+ Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities to established standards; and validating manufacturing processes.
+ Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
+ Ensure test and production equipment are maintained and calibrated.
+ Perform root cause analysis of technical issues and provide containment and corrective actions.
+ Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause.
+ Prepare Capital project proposals, and implement approved Capital Budget projects .
+ Work with inspection and vendors to assure component specification compliance.
+ Support implementation of new products as they transition to production. Review engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommend changes as necessary.
+ Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in manufacturing.
+ Develop, procure, or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods.
+ Complete time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements. Assist in manpower planning by developing standard operation times.
+ Generate assembly process flows and work instructions.
+ Train production and technician staff as required.Qualifications:
+ B. S. Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or appropriate major with a minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing. A. S. Degree in Engineering or related field, or High school diploma coupled with extensive related manufacturing experience MAY be considered (in lieu of B. S. Degree) at the lower grade level placements.Technical Skills:
+ Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.
+ Strong problem solving skills and efficient management of time and resources.
+ Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
+ Familiarity with process control, quality assurance, SPC, process and capability planning.
+ Knowledge of CNC programming and Computer Aided Design preferred.
+ Familiarity with detail process planning, including specifying speeds, feeds, tooling, fixturing and gaging preferred.
+ Practical application of ergonomics preferred.
+ Knowledge of machining operations and equipment, and with lean/cellular concepts preferred.
+ Familiarity with assembly line work balancing and material presentation preferred.
+ Familiarity with equipment justification and procurement, costing methods and value analysis preferred .
+ Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.Physical Demands and Work Environment: PACCAR WINCH INC is a manufacturer of industrial winches. Employee is working around heavy machinery. Employees must be able to operate safely in a busy industrial environment. Additional physical requirements include standing, walking, bending 90% of the time. Ability to squat, kneel on both knees, bend forward at the waist and hold hands above head.
