Job purpose

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing all daily operations relating to shipping, receiving, purchasing, inventory control, and customer service, with shared responsibility of new product transfers for IMMY. This position directly manages leaders of the warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams, among others as necessary, and reports to the VP of Operations. 

Success in this position can be measured by the following metrics: internal and external customer on-time delivery rates, raw material stockouts, raw material inventory value and turnover rates, raw and FG material scrap due to purchasing and/or order fulfillment errors, order invoice and fulfillment accuracy, raw materials pricing, budget, customer complaints, and employee turnover. 


Key duties and responsibilities

• Foster a hard-working, team-based, continuous improvement-minded culture

• Supervise all warehouse, purchasing, and customer service operations to ensure an optimal customer experience

• Use sales history and forecast data to determine appropriate methods for purchasing raw materials, ensuring optimal inventory turnover conditions without risking stockouts

• Supervise pricing negotiations and contracts for raw materials with the goal of minimizing costs without sacrificing quality

• Manage regularly scheduled inventory counts, perform cycle count and scrap transactions in an ERP, and generate monthly scrap and cycle reports to be presented to supervisor and executive management

• Support new product transfer projects by contributing to raw material and kitting decisions, acquiring samples for prototype development, and providing unit cost estimations

• Develop and refine policies & procedures for each departmental team

• Develop, monitor, and refine, as necessary, the annual budget and growth and goal strategies for the department

• Training, daily supervision, review, promotion, hiring, and firing of employees

• Ensure that all operations and products generated comply to internal quality standards and relevant regulatory standards 

• Any other duties as assigned 



Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a supply chain role in a regulated environment

• Highly self-directed with a strong sense of urgency and drive for excellence

• Possesses polite yet clear verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills to ensure operations run smoothly

• Experience and ability to effectively work and manage others in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with competing demands

• Committed to fostering their team’s growth and innovative spirit, and to lead by example by embracing change through continuous improvement initiatives 

• Detail-oriented yet strives for simple, refined processes with a hassle-free user experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or Science

Desired qualifications:

• Experience managing teams in an FDA and/or ISO-regulated environment

• Experience shipping regulated product internationally to multiple continents, using multiple carriers, on a regular basis

• Familiarity with ERP systems and PowerBI reporting tools 

• Certification in DOT hazmat shipping

• Understanding of 49CFR and IATA requirements
