  1. Job Summary Job Function: To serve as a clinical instructor for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) degree program. Responsible for meeting with students at clinical sites and providing continuous on-site instruction for EMT and paramedic students. Essential Job Functions: 1. Participates in the clinical instruction of EMT and Paramedic students. 2. Function under the direction of the EMS Program Director. 3. Complete student evaluations in a timely manner. 4. Provide assignments in clinical setting. 5. Ensure students are meeting their minimum clinical competencies. 6. Provide leadership and positive role modeling for students. 7. May be required to assist in test question writing and evaluation during clinical shift 8. Attend annual program meeting. 9. Completes all mandatory training. 10. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. ## Position Qualifications Education: *High school diploma**** Work Experience: *Minimum of one year field experience with an EMS agency as a paramedic Preferred Experience: * Previous teaching experience or field training. * Experience in education technology, simulation technology, or related area. * Familiarity with Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic registry skill and practices. License/Certifications: * Current National Registry of EMTs certification as a Paramedic * Current Oklahoma Paramedic license * AHA BLS Provider * AHA ACLS Provider * AHA PALS/PEPP Provider Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to educate and assist students with learning of the various skills necessary for EMS education. * Ability to evaluate student performance. * Ability to conduct formative and summative assessment of student learning. * Ability to create and maintain a positive learning environment, displaying and requiring professionalism in all clinical activities. * Ability to work collaboratively with EMS agency representatives on meeting program goals and learning outcomes. * Can show a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior. * Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple students in the clinical setting. * Ability to adapt and apply laboratory methods, practices and techniques. * Ability to follow health and safety procedures and regulations. * Ability to work with minimal direct supervision. * Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalism * Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior Preferred Qualifications: * Associate’s degree * AHA BLS Instructor * AHA ACLS Instructor * AHA PALS/PEPP Instructor * PHTLS Provider Working Conditions: * Hospital and assisted living facility environment. * Position may require work during evening and/or weekend hours. Physical Requirements: * Instructor will perform duties inside structures or in hospital settings. * Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting up to 75 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, climbing or walking. Any items weighting more than 45 lbs. must be team lifted per OSU safety regulations. * Must be able to handle and safely dispose of solutions and any hazardous materials wearing appropriate PPE.
