Description
This curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as Medical Laboratory Technicians. This is a 1 + 1 program. Students take the general education and support courses the first year and then apply for admission to the program. Upon admission to the program, the students will take the occupational specialty courses over the next year. The program includes 16 weeks of clinical experience in laboratories throughout the region. Skills Acquired: the MLT performs laboratory procedures that require a high level of skill and that assist the medical team with their diagnosis of disease. Occupations of Interest: Graduates are generally employed in in-patient and outpatient medical laboratories.
