Instructional Program (CIP)
The Forklift/Material training will teach the student the safe operation of a forklift (powered industrial truck).
Students learn proper operation including safety warnings, differences between the truck and the automobile, truck controls and instrumentation, steering and maneuvering of the truck, vehicle capacity, stability and operating limitations.
Practice is provided on-site with forklifts in a warehouse setting. Correct personal lifting techniques are discussed and practiced to minimize workplace injuries. Forklift training includes the following: Sit-Down Lift Truck, Counterbalance Stand Up Truck, Sit-Down Clamp Truck, Walk-Along Electric Pallet Jack, and the Virtual Reality Simulator Order Picker.
