Instructional Program (CIP)
Description
You will learn the basics of the structure and functions of the human
body plus the signs upon which to base decisions about emergency
pre-hospital care. The program covers common emergency illnesses and
injuries as well as initial care and treatment modalities. You will
learn oxygen therapy and airway maintenance, cardiac arrest management,
trauma care and other aspects of emergency care. While the program is
intended to prepare you for work in a basic life support service, you
will also be prepared to perform basic emergency care in other settings.
Local job opportunities include area hospitals, fire departments, and
EMS agencies.
