Description
Medical Assistants learn a brief history of medicine, the characteristics needed to be a medical assistant, practice good ethical behavior, learn good communication skills, how to take patient history, do basic patient assessment, assist in minor office procedures, phlebotomy, injections, EKG's, pharmacology and other basic skills related to assisting in any type of medical office with direct patient care. Additionally, students are provided the opportunity to use the theory in practical clinical experiences. In this Program, Core Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology and Health Careers Core Curriculum are taught.
