The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the overall management of general, preventative, and corrective maintenance of the equipment, structures, and grounds of a large waste processing facility. This includes long term and daily planning of all maintenance activities to include planned preventative maintenance as well as emergency repairs.

This position is responsible to directly supervise mechanics, technicians, and contractors performing preventive and corrective maintenance as well as outages and projects.

This individual must possess the ability to create an environment that empowers employees to drive system improvements as well as the ability to train employees on proper maintenance work, trouble shooting and safe operations. The ability to track, manage, and communicate work order status with the Operations staff and ensure alignment with business and operational needs of the facility is imperative.

The individual will be responsible for providing annual budgeting information and monthly forecasting updates.

Position Requirements

To be considered for this position the qualified individual must have a HS Diploma/GED and a solid background in waste facility or industrial plant maintenance including experience in planning and coordinating major maintenance/overhaul projects.

Must have at least 5 years’ related experience with prior waste facility experience and first line supervisory experience preferred.

Formal technical training, and/or a college degree are a plus.

Familiarity with NEC, NBIC & ASME codes, and scheduling tools are required. Must be able to identify opportunities for improvement and implement positive change, have knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies, be able to manage parts inventory to optimum levels. Must possess strong communication, organization and computer skills. Preference to candidates with strong working knowledge of Peoplesoft ALM, MAXIMO & Microsoft Projects.
