Job Description

1st Shift – Dept 050100

Summary: This job consists of operating a forklift, loading, unloading, moving trailers, shipping, receiving, and cooler inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

The ability to work under the direction of a supervisor and drop and hook as needed.

Responsible for verifying that loaded trailer’s cooling system is on, functioning, and set at proper temperature.

Responsible for timely loading and/or unloading of trailers as directed by plant supervisors, plant management and/or the transportation manager.

Assist with outbound trailers for both inner company and outside customers.

Assist with cooler rotation and staging of raw materials.

Provide services to our customers (plants) with the attitude of service in mind.

Maintain complete and accurate records of trailer movements.

Must comply with all State driver training and documentation requirements.

Other duties as required by dispatch or management.

Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; 12 months tractor trailer driving experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate hours of service, complete log book pages and calculate and report hours worked.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid CDL Driver’s License. Must have no major driving violations and must meet requirements of company driver program.

Must be PIE Operator certified by OK Foods.
