The Noble Research Institute, LLC is seeking a Research Assistant 1 to assist on projects associated with a recently funded US-Israel Binational Agricultural Research and Development (BARD). This position will be in Plant Cell Biology program under the shared supervision of Dr. Elison Blancaflor and Dr. Charles Rohla.

Funding for this temporary position is through a grant from the BARD program and is schedule begin on October 1, 2019. Funding is anticipated to be renewed annually based upon performance and funding availability and is scheduled to end on or before September 30, 2022.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with research activities in the lab and/or greenhouse. The primary duties and assignments of the position will include, but are not limited to, processing pecan cuttings for clonal propagation, setting-up and maintaining hoop and greenhouse experiments involving rooted pecan cuttings, microscopy and RNA/DNA extraction of pecan roots and collecting and analyzing plant growth data.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required with a BS in plant biology, agricultural sciences or related field preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research atmosphere are required.

Because of the physical requirements for this position, a work steps will be required.
