Serve as an operational technology adviser for the manufacturing facility.
Lead a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, programmers, technologists, millwrights, electricians, contractors or employees. Be able to guide, inspect and correct their work to ensure it meets the short and long term needs of the business.
Lead Engineering team in designing new manufacturing processes and improving current ones.
Establish needs and specifications of new manufacturing equipment that will be designed by machine integrators or designed by the inhouse engineering team.
Lead engineering team in designing of automation control systems using sensors, PLCs, pneumatic circuits, electric actuators, hydraulic actuators, robots, etc.
Perform process analysis using data logging, statistics and general observations to identify process improvement opportunities or failure mode root causes.
Participate in a multidisciplinary team, with improvement team and production teams in continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes.
Value added engineering of garage door products.
Design tools, work stations, carts, racking, and machinery for the manufacturing of garage doors.
Technical support to production and maintenance to ensure the business meets or exceeds expected performance of the manufacturing plant and external activities within the value stream of the business.
Bachelors of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar program in a Canadian University.
Experience in a Manufacturing environment is an asset.
Drafting with Solid Works
Comfort in programming PLCs, Arduinos, C++, Labview is an asset.
Knowledge of electronics, sensors, motors, etc.
Knowledge of pneumatics, cylinders, valves, sensors, etc.
Ability to read and design electrical schematics is an asset.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Ability to write reports and perform oral presentations.
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
