The LPN has the responsibility to provide patients with the highest quality of healthcare within an atmosphere of genuine caring. In addition, the LPN works under the direct supervision of the physician, RN and other clinical staff in the delivery of primary care to patients. – Under direct supervision of Physician and RN the LPN will demonstrate knowledge and skills needed to provide age-appropriate care based on the assigned unit. Administer prescribed medications and intravenous fluids. Observe patients charting and report changes in patients’ condition and take necessary action. Provide basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, rubbing with alcohol, massaging or performing catheterizations. Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions. Prepare patients for examinations, tests or treatments and explain procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent, Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Oklahoma. Prefer 6 months to 1year experience. ACLS to be acquired within 1 year. Current BLS certification required. Demonstrates the ability to perform the technical and critical thinking outlines in the performance standards. Must be able to provide nursing care to patients of all ages: neonates to geriatric population. Demonstrates team working, self-direction, and teaching skills.
