Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Occupational Safety and Health invites applications for an expected tenure-track associate/assistant professor position in Occupational Safety & Health.
Founded in 1909, Southeastern OK State University enrolls approximately 4,200 students in 38 undergraduate and 14 graduate degree programs. The campus is in Durant, Oklahoma, north of Dallas, Texas and southeast of Oklahoma City. The Department of Occupational Safety and Health is recognized for its quality graduates and is one of the fastest growing departments at the university. Both the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science programs are BSCP “Qualified Academic Programs”. There are currently six full-time faculty and more than 900 undergraduate and graduate majors in the department.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED: The successful candidate will have one of the following (in ranked order of preference):
1. A doctorate in Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, Risk Management/Loss Control, Systems Safety or related occupational safety field.
2. A MS or MA graduate in Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, Risk Management/Loss Control, Systems Safety, or related occupational safety field with ABD status on an approved doctorate.
3. A MS or MA graduate in Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, Risk Management/Loss Control, Systems Safety or closely related occupational safety field, with willingness to begin or continue pursuit of doctorate.
PREFERRED: Certification, such as CSP, ARM or CIH is highly desirable. The ideal candidate would also have experience in Systems, HazMat or Construction. Evidence of research, peer reviewed publications and presentations is also highly desirable.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position begins January 1, 2020 and may require multiple campus assignments as well as varied time and delivery methods.
