Serves as a liaison and builds collaborative relations between informatics and operational users to ensure the optimum use of clinical software and workflows to support organizational safety, patient experience, resource efficiency and revenue capture. Position is responsible for support of the business users in key operations. Uses excellent customer service skills to assist with training and support. Supports existing functionality within the Epic system and other integrated clinical systems through problem-solving and educational skills. The position utilizes a strong understanding of Epic software, operational workflows, and policies supporting the business.
+ Provides hands-on EHR support in a hospital or clinic environment. Assists providers and staff with maximizing the standardized and consistent use of Epic through support of the software as designed.
+ Provides hands-on support for other third-party, non-Epic, applications that are deeply integrated within the EHR and are part of the end user experience.
+ Communicates clearly, openly and efficiently to insure correct use of the EHR and timely resolution of day-to-day issues including support of downtime processes.
+ Displays good customer service skills, including listening, problem identification, resolution and where necessary service recovery.
+ Provides effective and efficient onsite or phone support to operational users, working days, evenings, and nights as needed.
+ Uses independent judgment on a daily basis to identify, prioritize, and report issues to the TSC, Nursing Informatics, and/or the Epic EHR team.
+ Maintains EHR user knowledge by attending monthly Super-user meetings, use of reporting tools, and relevant regulatory tools.
+ Partners with other Informatics Specialists to assure service needs are met.
+ Builds the collaborative relationships with ancillary department/clinic users by rounding and attending requested entity meetings.
+ Participates in and supports new department/clinic installations.

+ Bachelor’s degree with 1 to 3 years of experience OR Associates Degree with 3 to 5 years of clinical experience. Enrolled and completed a Bachelor’s program within 3 years of hire)
+ SSMH Clinical Informaticist Credential (must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain annually)
+ RN or other health care experience
+ Epic certification
