Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.
Welder I
Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
Welder II
May prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot.
Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
Welder III
Prepares the materials and set up for a welding device or robot.
Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job.
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices.
Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
Positioning of materials, preparing for welding and/or cutting and finishing joined materials in preparation for paint.
Inspects completed components or subassemblies to determine accuracy of product within quality standards.
Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment.
Complies with all applicable OSHA, EPA/DEQ, and company rules, ensuring a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times.
Travel, shift work, and overtime may be required to accomplish some of the above tasks.
Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments.
Accountable for the security of CTB materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of CTB products.
Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: (Minimum Requirements)
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Knowledge of welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG, TIG, controlled atmosphere, and plasma cutting), tools and equipment. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
Typically reports to a Lead or Supervisor
Welder I
Works under moderate supervision.
Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience or may have 0 years of experience plus an associate’s degree, or additional training, or certification.
Welder II
Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience
Welder III
Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors.
Typically requires 5-7 years of related experience
SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Basic computer skills.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
MIG Welders, Plasma Cutters, grinders, & hoists.
PC’s and basic office equipment
