Evening Computer Operator

Supervisor:  Operations Coordinator

Department:  Operations

Summary:  This position requires strong computer skills, training on the IBM iSeries will be provided, but requires a commitment to learn. Needs to work well with a team and independently without supervision to successfully complete daily task.  All duties and responsibilities must be fulfilled with proficiency.


Attention to detail a must. The employee occupying this position needs to be familiar with the submission of jobs using a daily operations check list, as well as balancing techniques of posting numerous batch files. They must maintain a professional attitude at all times. Strong communication skills required to convey problems in processing to immediate supervisor and vendor.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties not listed.

  • Perform  online data entry and reject repair in established software pull and work duplicates in established software from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am Mon-Fri

  • Build and transmit transit files to Endpoint Exchange and Federal Reserve
  • Completes nightly Department balancing and closing procedures
  • Post-balance external files for nightly processing
  • Process bank work using Silverlake core processing software
  • Contact core vendor for technical support and service

  • Manage output queues and devices

  • Verify scheduled jobs   

  • Assisting Operations Coordinator as needed

Education and/or Experience

This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1 year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of educations and experience. Banking experience a plus.


Language Skills

This position requires the ability to read and comprehend instructions, business correspondence, and memos along with the ability to write business correspondence and emails. It also requires the ability to effectively communicate by phone or email information to other employees of the organization and vendors.


Mathematical Skills

The person occupying this position needs to have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.


Reasoning Ability

This position requires the ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions. They may be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. In this position because of the complexity of the job all decisions will be deferred to management.


Other Skills and Abilities

The ability to interact with employees in a positive and professional manner is a requirement along with good organizational skills. We require the ability to operate standard office equipment including paper folding machine and printers.
