- Job Summary
The Baker/Pastry Chef is responsible for operating the baking/pastry section of the Ranchers’ Club kitchen while working closely with Food and Beverage General Manager, Chef, Sous Chef. This position is required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings
This position is responsible to create high quality pastry dishes and baked goods with the standard recipes and presentations on order to maintain quality standards and consistency of products. They also assist in production and maintenance of par stocks of pastry and dessert with proper rotation of products and maintain highest cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bakery and pastry sections of the RC Kitchen.
Must be able to hear equipment, timers, etc
Position is subject to much standing and walking during shift
Ability to see to check quality and portion sizes
Good dexterity to handle equipment (knives, slicers, mixers, pots, pans, other sharps object,)
Frequent heavy lifting and transport of up to 50 lbs. The position will require to be on feet for long periods during the shift.
- Position Qualifications
High School/GED and five years experience as a baker and/or pastry chef – Must be familiar with use of large volume recipes and equipment, food weighing and measuring.
Must have experience baking traditional desserts and high end decorated desserts, creating and developing dessert menus
Create standardized recipes, procedures and presentation
Food Handler’s Permit/Safe Serve certification before or after hire
Must be able to lift 50lbs, must be able to stand, work, and walk on hard floors for extended hours. Must be able to read, understand and follow recipes and must have basic math skills and above average manual dexterity
