- General Description
The Health Professions Aide – Student is primarily responsible for assisting HP Program Directors, HPC Simulation/Lab Director, HPC Lab Assistant, and HP Division Staff in a variety of tasks. When scheduling allows, the student will assist faculty members with appropriate tasks.

- Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Relieve staff as needed.
Take messages for faculty and staff and deliver to appropriate person/office.
Assist with copy machine operation and re-stock paper in machine and computer labs as neccessary.
Re-stock paper in faculty and lab printers.
Take copy requests to the print shop. Pickup and distribute completed requests.
File records, etc.
Maintain confidential files of the department and ensure confidentiality of any information that may be viewed within.
Receive and distribute incoming mail.
Assist with Campus Clinical Lab housekeeping and laundry.
Assist with set up and breaking down of labs, maintenance of lab equipment and supplies record keeping.
Clean microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator and dining area as needed.
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of lab and computer equipment.
Type items and input items into the test bank as directed.
Assist with graduate follow up surveys as directed.
Make copies as directed.
Other duties as assigned.

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur
- Minimum Education/Experience
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester OR enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester
Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
- Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Good telephone and customer service skills.
Reliable and dependable work ethic.
Assist with setting up and breaking down labs.
Knowledge of Word, Excel and spreadsheets.
Prior experience in office setting.
Demonstrated ability to attend to details.
- Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Health Professions Division and the OCCC campus to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and other office equipment to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to occasionally position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.
This position requires the person to use upper and lower body to exert force up to 50 pounds to push, pull, grasp, and/or lift materials or equipment.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to work with materials/equipment and assist students/faculty/staff.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.
